The Sabb Elections are about to get started! It is a crazy time (our current president apparently didn’t sleep for a week and lived on Red Bull during his campaign…) WTV is capturing everything that happens this year. This is the largest live event for 2011 so we require a massive crew made up of all our members. Again, do not worry if you have never done it before, we’ll teach you on the day.
We are looking for the following:
Techies (anyone with knowledge of tech/electronics)
Presenters,
Camera operators
Set-up crew
Set designers
Editors
Floor mangers (who are like assistant directors),
Runners,
VT operator (the person who controls the visual transitions i.e. the pre-recorded footage), researcher/script writers (for all you aspiring journalists and writers)
Auditions for presenting – Wednesday week 4
If you are interested in presenting, we are holding auditions on Wednesday the 2nd 14.30-17.30 in h2.03.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
TWO ANCHORS (One male, One female): These two people will act as our lead presenters, tying everything together by introducing each segment. They will also be interviewing the newly elected Sabbs. as soon as they are announced. A script will be provided but you are expected to bring your own style to it and to ad-lib if necessary, especially in the interviews where you will only be given a general idea of what to ask. We will be auditioning people separately and then pairing people up for a second round straight after. However, it is also possible for people to audition in pairs if they wish.
LIVE LOUNGE PRESENTER: This presenter will be slightly more ‘light entertainment’ than the Anchors and will be working alongside a ‘panel’ of voters who you’ll interact with in order to gauge their reactions throughout the night. Your predominant role will be to fill in the time that it takes for the Sabb. to get from stage to studio for their interview. You will also have a more major interview of your own in the middle of the show. This person has to be personable, energetic and a fast thinker; you will have next to no script so the ability to ad lib is absolutely key.
GREEN SCREEN PRESENTER: This presenter will be in charge of delivering and, more importantly, analysing the polls in a direct, concise and engaging manner. Working alongside the graphics, this presenter will also have to be very aware of their presence on screen, ensuring that all the visual information is conveyed effectively.
So, if you think you’d suit any of these roles, come join us WEDNESDAY, WEEK 4 in H2.03 at 2.30pm where we’ll start off the auditioning process.
